About Us

Who We Are
The US Cannabis Roundtable (USCR) is the voice of America's regulated cannabis industry. Our members include the nation’s leading cannabis operators and ancillary businesses and operate in all 39 states where cannabis is legal (medical or adult use). By combining the collective power and reach of the National Cannabis Roundtable and US Cannabis Council through a merger in early 2025, we became the premier force for cannabis reform in Washington, DC.
We are committed to sensible regulation, criminal justice reform, social equity, and community reinvestment.
Our Priorities

Rescheduling
USCR supports the rescheduling, and ultimately the removal, of cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act. Moving cannabis to Schedule III unlocks the medical utility of the drug and eliminates the burdensome and archaic 280E tax provision levied on state-compliant companies. Upon rescheduling, USCR supports the implementation of smart regulations, while ensuring consumers have access to safe, tested products.
SAFE Banking and Access to Capital
USCR advocates for passing commonsense legislation like the SAFE Banking Act. SAFE Banking would increase public safety while also allowing the industry to grow. In addition to SAFE Banking, USCR strongly supports expanding opportunities for cannabis businesses to gain access capital including through lending, grants, and the ability to list on the United States Stock exchanges– something foreign companies can take advantage of but domestic companies can not.
States’ Rights
Until there is a law federally legalizing cannabis, states must continue to have the ability to pass cannabis laws that work well for their citizens. Since 1996, forty (40) states have passed cannabis frameworks that work within their own borders, and any federal policy on cannabis must recognize the significant groundwork and foundation the respective states have laid on this issue.
Criminal Justice
USCR is committed to ending needless arrests and incarceration of individuals for cannabis offenses. Law enforcement resources should be spent on combating dangerous criminals rather than against consumers and businesses that are acting in compliance with state laws.
